Born into a construction family spanning generations, it seemed almost inevitable that I would one day find my place in the world of bricks and mortar. After twenty years in the financial sector, I launched my own venture in 2008 and set about learning the craft of interior design from the ground up—gaining my skills hands-on and on the job.
Working on restoration projects sparked a deepening fascination with history and architecture, which soon developed into a genuine passion for research. As I recorded what I learned, photography emerged as a natural extension: a visual chronicle of my “history hunts.” Entirely self-taught, I discovered an intuitive ability to absorb new creative skills, and the instant gratification of photography drew me further into the field.
The creative direction of my work eventually led to a recommendation to submit my images to Getty Images. After reviewing my portfolio, I was delighted to be accepted as a creative photographer in July 2017. Partnering with one of the world’s leading image and media agencies has enabled my work to reach a wider, global audience and expand into commercial photography.
To complement my experience, I contribute to The Royal Photographic Society, working within their Heritage and Archaeology Special Interest Group, as well as the Women in Photography Group and the Specialist History Group. I am also an accredited member of the British Institute of Professional Photography, offering clients the assurance and confidence that my services meet recognised professional standards.
